St. Joseph Montessori School strives to be a community where teachers, staff, and parents work together to create an environment of high moral and academic values for our students. Parents are a vibrant part of the academic, personal, and social development of students. As a parent/guardian, you are automatically a member of the Family Association, the school’s volunteer support group. Faculty and staff are also members of the organization.
The school relies on Family Association members to help with special events and programs. Whether it is assisting in your child’s class, becoming a room parent, volunteering with the Winter Festival, or chaperoning a field trip or school dance, the possibilities are endless! Held on the last Monday of the month, Family Association meetings are open to all members. There are opportunities for leadership within Family Association as an Executive Council member or committee chair.
Volunteering will help you get to know the school better and will also give you the opportunity to meet other parents. Even if you can't come to Family Association meetings, please get in touch with the Family Association President or your room parent to find out how you can help. We look forward to having you share your time and talents in making a difference in the lives and education of our children. NOTE: Per the Catholic Diocese of Central Ohio, all adults who volunteer at St. Joseph Montessori School must have Protecting God's Children certification and a background check on file with the school. We encourage ALL parents to obtain the proper requirements. Protecting God's Children seminars are held throughout the year at local Catholic schools and churches. Classroom Orientation and Back-to-School Kick-Off Celebration - Sunday, August 18, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Meet the families and staff that make SJMS such a great community. Enjoy frozen treats and fun-filled activities for all ages. A great way to start the year!
SJMS Fall Family Fun Night: September 20, 3:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Join the SJMS Family Assocation as we gather together for a fun evening of activities on the SJMS playground. Food trucks will be available and the evening will conclude with a movie on the lawn beginning at 7:30 pm.
Pancake Breakfast - December 7, 9:00am - Noon
Join us for a Jolly Holiday Breakfast of pancakes, fellowship, and holiday fun as we transform Ryan Hall and SJMS into a Winter Wonderland.
Interest Fair Dinner - February 21
The Family Association provides dinner for the Interest Fair judges.
Grandfriends' Day - April 24
The Family Association provides coffee and a light breakfast for grandparents and special friends who come to enjoy the day with our students.
Family Association Meetings - Last Monday of each month at 5:30pm
The FA Meetings are open to all and are usually help on the last Monday of each month. Free childcare is always provided for SJMS students. The first FA Meeting will be Monday, August 26, 2019, at 5:30pm in the Maria Montessori Meeting Room. Please come and see how you can support our school!
