Grandfriends’ Day 2019

Montessori Matters - Grandfriends’ Day 2019
By Melanie Steadman

Grandfriends’ Day is one of our most special days at SJMS.  Our students look forward to sharing their school with their special friends and our special friends are able to get a glimpse into our students’ daily lives.  The day is filled with smiling faces and excitement that creates happy memories for everyone involved.

Our morning will begin after carpool with snacks and plenty of coffee!  After a brief presentation at 9am, our guests will be released to visit with their students.  Along with touring the classrooms and experiencing Montessori curriculum, there will also be complimentary pictures taken in the Library, the Book Fair will be open, and Hip Hues will be on-site helping us screen print shirts and tote bags.  (The shirts and totes are on sale for $12 each and can be ordered online in advance or purchased the day of.)  Grandfriends can RSVP by either mailing in their invitations, or calling/emailing Sam Frost (614) 291-8601.

The school will dismiss at Noon during Grandfriends’ Day when the program ends.  We encourage you to plan something fun for your Grandfriends and students to enjoy together.  Perhaps enjoy lunch in the Short North or head to the park for a picnic.  Whatever you decide to do, have fun and make memories!  After all, according to American Writer Alex Haley, “Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.”
