"The environment
itself will teach the child, if every error he makes is manifest to
him, without the intervention of a parent or teacher, who should
remain
a quiet observer of all that happens."

Roxanne
Holonitch |
Art class is an opportunity for
creative exploration. Roxanne has developed curricula appropriate for each
age level. The year for our Primary students is divided into trimesters
including Art Elements/Principles, Artists and their Styles, and Cultural
Arts. The Middle School classes explore yearly themes like Art: A to Z
(working on art through the alphabet), Time Warp (following the Art history
Timeline), and Passport to Art (a whirlwind trip around the Art World). The
Erdkinder students have a more specialized art experience with a quarterly
syllabus. Erdkinder students work independently to complete the work
necessary for a
detailed portfolio by the end of the year.
Clubs available in the art room include Paint Club, an extension of our painting curriculum
for 7th and 8th grade students.
Roxanne is also our school newspaper editor and offers students
opportunities to write articles and photographs events to be included. |
