St. Joseph Montessori

To be considered for this
position, applicants will:

Have a minimum of a
Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science.

Have a minimum of 2
years experience working in a library within a school
setting.
-
Have the ability to
follow established cataloging procedures.
-
Demonstrate proficiency
in Microsoft Windows OS and of Microsoft Office
applications.
In addition, the ideal
candidate will:
-
Show some familiarity
of Concourse OPAC catalog software
-
Exhibit knowledge of
Montessori practices
-
Demonstrate patience
and respect, as well as, a passion for learning.
Job Responsibilities will
include:
-
Maintain, assist, and
implement instruction as a resource person to teachers,
staff, students and volunteers.

Plan and implement
story time with younger students.
-
Repair and/or replace
damaged books.
-
Maintain current
inventory of up-to-date books while keeping in an
established budget.
-
Catalog new books and
keep the school library clean, orderly and efficient.
-
Monitor classroom
library time, which includes helping students locate
books while managing check in/out procedures.
-
Recruit, orient and
schedule parent volunteers to assist with classes.
-
Enjoy working with
children of all ages, as students at our school range
from 3 – 14 years old.
