For those who are planning vacations, alternative child care, etc., the following 2008-2009 calendar "highlights" should be helpful.

  Monday, August 25 - Orientation Day for all students new to SJMS and new to a level (except 7/8 grade)   9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

  Tuesday, August 26 – First Partial Day of School

            ALL Children's House Students attend from  8:30-11:30 ONLY

            ALL Elementary Students: (Primary, Middle School & 7/8 grade) 8:30-1:30 ONLY

 (Please note: No extended Day -- Please plan accordingly) We will notify school bus systems of this day.  They may be willing to provide early afternoon pick-up. 

  Wednesday, August 27 - FIRST FULL DAY of class for ALL students 8:30-3:00 p.m. Before and After School Care begins for all contracted students.

Drop-In Care Available beginning Tuesday, September 2

  Monday, September 1 - Labor Day  (NO CLASSES)

  Friday, October 17 - Staff Development Day (NO CLASSES)

  Wednesday - Friday - November 26-28 - Thanksgiving Break (NO CLASSES)   

  Monday, December 22 through Friday, January 2 - Christmas Break (NO CLASSES)

  Monday, January 19 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (NO CLASSES)

  Monday, February 16 - Presidents' Day  (NO CLASSES)

  Friday, March 13 -  NO CLASSES

  Friday, April 10 through Friday, April 17  - Spring Break (NO CLASSES)

  Monday, May 25 - Memorial Day (NO CLASSES)

  Wednesday, June 3 - 8^th Grade Graduation

  Thursday, June 4 - LAST DAY OF CLASSES for all students (Early dismissal 1:30 p.m.)
