open house. To reduce distractions in the classroom,
we request that parents only attend this day.

functions, we encourage you to stop by.)

Your visit
will be helpful in getting a
glimpse into the school, meeting staff and some current parents. We will also answer your questions regarding the
school, the Montessori Method and tools that your children will be using.
Light refreshments will be served.
Hints to make your Open House
experience more informative:
Do a little
research and learn about the Montessori Method. You
don't have to become an expert, but if you understand
the basics, you'll know right away if Montessori is
right for you.
Visit the website
for the
American Montessori Society
and read some of their Family Support Materials.
Read about how
Montessori compares to traditional schools. One
place you can find the results of these studies is
on the Association Montessori International website
at
www.montessori-ami.org/research/research.htm.
This association was founded in 1929 by Dr Maria
Montessori to champion the cause of all children.
Visit the
North American Montessori Teacher's Association
website for information on teaching
Montessori.
Make an informed
decision:
Selecting a
school for your child is a very serious decision. Before
you make that decision, write down your priorities. Know
what you are looking for. But, the most important thing to do
is to observe in a classroom. Observe both our school
and other schools. See the difference. Write down your
thoughts, compare them to your priorities list and then discuss them with your family.
Download this chart to help guide
your observations and to log your thoughts.
